I had a lovely lady at work, all prepared to plant a veggie patch (had a truckload of soil delivered, garden beds filled) and went to go buy seedlings & seeds only to discover the crazy had hit bunnings. I've been going a bit OTT with the plantings lately and had extra's that were sitting in my little seedling trays doing nothing. So I got out my paper potter and potted her up the excess on the left (tomatoes, cucumber, capsicum, broccoli, kale, cabbage, lettuce and silverbeet) to get her started, as well as bought in my seed collection for her to have a look through and grab a couple of seeds of what she wanted. She was so grateful, I thought maybe others would want my "left overs". This morning I emptied the last of my seedling trays by planting out what I needed to and then took the leftovers in to work again. I sent out an email about the seedlings - they were gone in 10 min!!! I had to deal with all the dissappointment for the rest of the day from people who popped in to grab something, only to find nothing left :)
I always feel bad for the poor little left over seedlings that I end up composting or throwing to the chooks so maybe in future I'll do this.
