Growing local

Garden Visits

Follow the calendar link below to check out where the group is visiting throughout the year or to choose a date for your own GV:

We're always looking for new gardens to visit. Don't be shy, it's easy and no one expects "perfection" (whatever that is) they just want somewhere to meet up and chat!

Please take a few moments to follow the link above and read the simple instructions in full.

Then contact Dianne with the information needed so I organise an Event Listing for your visit.

It's amazing what we can learn by visiting other peoples gardens. I know I pick up at least one good idea or plant each time.

You might be surprised at how keen other members are to visit your garden and see what you are growing, how your chooks / quails are kept, share their own excess produce, cuttings, seed and generally just have a good old chat with other like minded people.

Be brave!

The visits are informal and free. Choose to come to as many or few as you wish.

Dianne's mobile number 0407 691 485 for emergencies.

Anyone is welcome to post and organise their own Events of any kind - in fact it is encouraged.

If you choose to do this please put your own name down as organiser, not mine. It can be very confusing for everyone if my name is on it and I know nothing about the Event.

Responsibility for running the event is up to the organiser.

Thank you

Okay, I'll take December.  You still have JUNE Dianne.

The May Garden Visit has now been filled. Thank You Muriel, we look forward to your GV.

We only need to fill the December date, so get in quickly so as not to lose your preferred date. If you were wanting to have a GV and your month was taken. It is not to late. There is no reason we can't have 2 GV's in a month.

Thank you to all our Host who have put up their hands up to host a Garden Visit this year. We are still looking for someone to host a GV in the months of May and December

Perhaps one of our New Members may like to host a GV. You may have a New Garden, Permaculture, Wicking Bed, Container or Mixed Garden, big or small. No mater the style or size we would love to visit. Our GV's are very informal and a lot of fun.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested as we need to fill the May spot as soon as possible before our members make their own arrangements. We have the Daley's Fruit Visit Event planned for 21st May, so that date is out but any other Saturday or Sunday is available.

Remember, south siders coming north, and north siders going south all travel right past Anne's door!  What a great little community this is.

Hi Garden Visit Group Members,

We have a New Member, Ann Heap who is very interested in attending as many GV's as possible.

She has no transport and lives in Brisbane Inner City. We are hoping between all of us we will be able to drive Ann to as many GV's and Outings as possible.

If you are able to help out please send me a Private Message email so as I can send you Ann's details.

Thanks so Much, Dianne

Thanks so much Rob for Hosting this GV.

We still do have a couple of Months that do not have a date for GV's so please consider hosting a GV. Go to the GV Calendar to see the dates that are still without a GV.

Your garden need not be a Masterpiece of Garden Techniques but could  be A New Garden, A Bush Garden, A Permaculture Garden any garden that contains Fruits and or Vegetables/Herbs.

Certainly won't be gardening perfection at my place :)
Comment by Lissa on March 16, 2016 at 5:32

Morning all. Looking for gardens to visit later in the year - specifically MAY at the moment.

Check out the CALENDAR HERE to work out when you would like your visit. Dates are of your own choosing to suit and can be changed around if circumstances change.

I need some visits for Dianne to practice on :) so jump in. We're not looking for gardening perfection just a place for everyone to get together and have a chat over morning tea.
