Thank you Gabrielle. Oh yes still involved with BLF, my lifeline to sanity.

I've not personally heard from Farina for some years although she is still officially the owner of BLF. Andrew Cumberland does a lot of the admin day to day.

Transport and our vast distances is a major impediment to marketing in Australia compounded by the Fraudband we now have.

Love Coochie, friends have a holiday house there on Ooyan Street. Stayed overnight a few times, would loved to have moved there. Property prices are pretty wild.

There is a growers group on Russell (?) or maybe Lamb Island. They are members here on BLF although we rarely hear from them. Dave Tardent is a contact though I recall others from different islands.

In a nutshell and in my opinion, it turned out that farming near Woodenbong and selling in Brisbane & Gold Coast proved too hard.

There were enough members, but not all bought enough, every week. They were too spread out over too great a distance (various models were tried and tested). Both investment and climate on the farm proved to be hazardous.

It is still operating in a very small form by selling in 1 warehouse on the Gold Coast via Farina but it is unclear to me where the items are coming from. The actual farm is for sale, possibly as a community housing project or any reasonable offer. Beautiful spot with great water sources.

It has been a great ride: we have no regrets at all about being involved. Met some great people, had excellent adventures and learned heaps.

We personally have landed on Coochiemudlo Island and thus a bit away from the Bris Local Food scene, although we have started an organic foodgroup. Elaine, glad to see you are still here and active :)

What is happening Gabrielle?

Being northside I never had the opportunity to buy from them. And personally I have always had my doubts about its longevity being a private venture.

So if only from a stickybeak's perspective, I'd love to know how the OFS community has travelled these last 3 years.

This group could possibly disappear as it is no longer operating as per above. At the very least an edit by Farina is in order

This event would also be an excellent way to meet OFS people and it is held in the Currumbin Ecovillage. An absolute great afternoon-evening!

Valerie and Vanessa and anyone,

Feel free to try it out, either go to the Northey street market, the stall is in the middle for another few weeks but will move to organic vegie row soon.

Other options are:

Cannon Hill, Friday aft 4.30 -6.30 pm at 37 Ludwick st, just near the shopping centre or

Tarragindi, Saturday 8.00 am to 11 am at 45 Tarragindi road.

In both cases there are lots of opportunities for chatting and asking questions. Cash only. Selling great vegies, eggs and honey and most importantly: community!
