Chillies, Capsicums and Tomatoes and a Recipe for Sweet Peppers Stuffed with Fetta

It is now a great time to plant most Chillies, Capsicums and Tomatoes. As these are the mainstay of a lot of our recipes, used in many of our Culinary Treats, Preserves, Sauses, Salads, Curries, Stews, Ferments, Mexican Meals, Homemade Cheeses & Much More.

Today & tomorrow I am planting out 17 Mostly Rare Chili & Pepper Seeds into Pots, I am looking forward to seeing these grow and eventually being used for Cooking. Some of these varieties grow up to 3 mtrs tall so they will be planted in the garden rather than pots, perhaps on tripods. I am also hoping to plant out some unusual Tomatoes if anyone has any Seeds or Seedlings to spare.

I first need to get the Vegie Patch back in order. I plan to turn it over and then sow a mass planting of Mustard to dig back in. 

Last week I harvested a collection of Green Crown Peppers & Perennial Capsicums and stuffed them with Fetta & Cream Cheese. The boiling and soaking of the Chillies takes out a little of the bite due to the sugar content. They are very Moorish. Of course you can use any small Chillie or Pepper that is big enough to stuff. Christa has told me in her Relatives country they stuff the bigger peppers and then slice them for use as an Antipasto or an accompaniment to Salads.  ENJOY !!!

Yum!  I can vouch for them.  They were delicious and not too hot to enjoy.  The cheese after taste is great. 

It takes an experienced gardener to be able to grow so many different types of chilli plants.

Thanks for the stuffed sweet pepper recipe, it costs me a fortune buying these.  Now I just need to find the seeds for these chillies and get making them.

Hi Cheryl, I purchased my seedling plants of the Perennial Capsicums from Green Harvest. I will try to remember I bring some Seed with me to Valerie's GV for you, they grow very quickly and you are almost never without some to stuff.
