I am not sure what has happened here but the layout for the GV Reports has changed. But we won't worry about that now. I do apologize for this report being so late but things are a bit hectic here at the moment.
We had a lovely time over the week end Roger and Graham stopping off for a game of golf in Gympie (the course won) and Brenda & I going off to buy groceries for the week end. We stayed in a lovely little house in North Deep Creek built in CIRCA 1896.
Roger & Brenda's daughter Michele & Ben + their 2 children joined us for the first night. We had fun playing games and finding out just who the smart people are.
We woke up to a Misty Morning but it wasn't long before the sun shined through and blessed the skies, after a Good Breakfast it was off to Susan's Patch in Glenwood, about 38klms North of Gympie. The scenery is beautiful, Susan, you and your family are very lucky to find such a pretty spot to one day call home. A good long driveway, parking & eating area has been finished off with gravel & then there is also the area the caravan sits on very well thought out.
We all arrived around the same time 11.00 am Valerie & Family staying near by and Andy & Rozie making a Day Trip of it. We arrived, Trees, Seeds, A Gnome and Plenty of good Food in hand. After eating a lovely lunch (we have some pretty good cooks in our group), it was time to survey the land, whilst the children went swimming in the creek and building some kind of structures.
Susan has already begun to Plan, Prepare & Plant her Orchard (Oh to have so much land), there is already signs that the trees are liking it there with fruit beginning to develop. The soil is moist underneath and the land has been prepared to retain a good amount of moisture.
We enjoyed a cup of coffee and went home to prepare for the Breakfast on the Patch on the next day, Sunday.
After packing up the cars we headed of to Susan's for an Old Fashioned Camp Breakfast, After coffee and lounging about for a while it was time to venture home to ponder "What We Would Do if we were a Little Younger".
Thank You Susan & Family for allowing us to join in on this Newly Found Joy & Adventure of yours. It is a long way to go but we will be coming up there picnic baskets in hand and our Cane Grocery baskets ready to be filled in a few years time, when you have enough produce to sell.
Thank You also to all our Members who came along on this brilliant GV with a difference. I am sorry others who were ill could not have joined us.
Next year we are planning More "GV's with a Difference", so stayed tuned.
Our next GV will be at Valerie's on the Sunday 24th of November this will be written up shortly.
I neglected to say that Susan is lucky enough to have a flowing Creek alongside her Patch. Which she has now seen Fish in and they are not too shabby in size either, my guess is there will be Yabbies there as well, especially when we get a little rain...

So sorry about the report, it is a mess, the photos are in the wrong place now...
Graham said "WHO TOOK THAT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION"
Ah Graham. What a guy, flat out for Australia as usual! I'm sure that should Susan request it he would be willing to repeat his efforts without any ceremony or fuss. In his defence though it had been a hard day at the office(read golf course)!
LOL!
So awesome - thanks Susan for the GV on your block and thanks Dianne for the report, so good to see whilst unable to attend. Can I ask what preps you have done to the soil up there? It has been so dry recently; keen to know to maximise moisture with minimal human interference. I chuckled at the replies :)
