Part 1, Lissa's report is here.
The weather gods were smiling and the members rolled up in good numbers to see Susan's latest garden update.
And what an update! A smallish suburban block brimming with food plants, native plants and flowers. Added to the plants are chooks, bees, and a new dog.
The back yard - Lissa has photos of the front - is set off by a fence-defining row of fruit trees down the length. Then across the lower part of the yard is a chook and dog-proof fence enclosing a half-circle of flowers: marigolds, cosmos, sweet peas. I couldn't find a spot from where to include the whole section and the separate photos do not do it justice.
The the final section of the garden has the top-bar hive and several wicking beds.
Along one side fence are some Mulberries coming along:
And some Strawberries:
And yes, we will have Avocados ...
In an enclosed garden below the verandah are Blueberries, Mango and the fattest shallots:
Then there is a sample of top-bar honey in comb - we each had a taste of sensational honey ...
And that wicked kettle popcorn:
And some of our group concluding with Andy and Max.
Thank you Susan - your hard work really is paying off! Altogether a lovely morning in the fresh air and sunshine with our gardening friends old and new.
Nice work Elaine.
