When is a Cobbler's Peg not a Cobbler's Peg? When it's a Thickhead.

Botanical name is Crassocephalum crepidioides. It's in the daisy family. Seeds are wind dispersed. It's a host for the day-flying Magpie Moth Nyctemera amica. There's no mention of it in Weeds of Southern Queensland and a quick waltz around other likely sites didn't find any mention either.

I'd treat it with caution although it's not toxic, that white sap gives rise to some circumspection when considering a plant's edibleness.

Geeeeze, Joseph's back yard looks amazingly similar to mine.  ---- LOL

We have been using a lot of this plant in our " Fetta and Weed " pie, thus its well cooked.

Flipping through my new Weed Foragers book :D I can't find this one in there either.

That blue flower you photographed at Jerry C-W place is definately Chicory Elaine.

Thanks Lissa :-) Weed Foragers on the way to me - weird these books don't include that Thick Head plant, it's quite common and since James lives to tell the tale, edible too.
