My vanilla bean plant seems to have disappeared - it never did thrive.
I'm hoping to use Pandan instead once I get my head around the idea of cropping those green leaves to add to milk dishes :S
Vanilla orchids are tropical I believe so growing them here could be tricky. They need hand pollinating too.
My vanilla bean is growing terrifically, I can almost watch it. Will have to see how it does over winter though. I think one plant would be ok to hand pollinate and then the harvest and process thing although I was reading that you can get up to 100 beans off one plant.
