Running on renewable energy, Burlington, Vermont powers green movement forward

Burlington, Vermont, the state's largest city, recently became the first in the country to use 100 percent renewable energy for its residents' electricity needs. In a state known for socially conscious policies, the feat represents a milestone in the growing green energy movement. NewsHour's William Brangham reports on the implications for the country's green movement.

I think he's already being inundated with information and petitions. Not that he seems to be paying any attention.

Find a good petition to sign perhaps.

Reality is that the current govt are not interested in renewables. They give lip service to it but have made it next to impossible to continue to invest. They killed the Climate Council and still didn't see that the populace is interested enough to crowd-fund a similar organisation. They are deaf to anything to which their mates cannot profit. Our best hope is to vote them out next federal election sometime in 2016.

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
