Growing local

Hi everyone

It's coming to that time of year again when pests awake from their winter slumber to vandalise our crops.

Dad makes these heavy duty pest screen covers for raised garden beds. The frame is constructed from wood and the netting is commercial grade 30% green shade cloth that is UV stabilised and durable.

The cover is centrally hinged to allow for easy operation.

Dad can custom fit the covers to suit raised rectangular garden beds of varying sizes. The ones in the photo measure 2.2m length by 1.2m width by 0.60m height.

We use the covers to keep white cabbage butterflies, grasshoppers and armyworm moths (they are by far the worst pest of brassicas) out from our leafy crops.

The shade cloth will not impede watering.
