I’m wondering about this, on one of my eggplants. I think it’s red spider mite?

This is on a sturdy old fashioned striped eggplant. It’s not too bad but don’t want it to get any worse. Is it red spider mite? I have removed a number of damaged leaves and sprayed with a soapy water mix whilst I weight for the gurus to weigh in.

Try this if only to exclude it.

Can't help you much, Fiona, I've haven't got spider mite here.  Is that the same as red spider, if so they used to use bicarb soda for roses for that problem.  I think strawberry plants can get red spider. Somewhere I have a good pest book. I will have a look. 

There is also a fungus called chocolate spot that looks a bit like that.
