Brisbane Local Food

Growing local

We split our native bee hive about 3 weeks ago, and the bees have been active around both.

I notice a large number of bees not returning to the hive at night, instead clinging to nearby salvia and dianella.

Has anyone experienced this??

It is the males.

Never experienced it with my native hives Gwenneth. I could never tell the drones and the females apart with the SNB's.

Pose the question to Bob Luttrell.
