Our first longans for 2017 are ready for harvest, big and sweet.
We will be open this weekend Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 Feb, 9.00am-3.00pm both days for our first harvest of the 2017 season.
Longans are $8 per kilo, cash only.
Our address is corner of Roberts and Raynbird Roads Narangba
How it works:
The Longan Farm is a family farm.
We open to the public so that you can come and pick the longans from the tree yourself. All trees are small so you can pick fruit from the ground – no ladders.
We weigh the fruit that you pick and then charge you based on a set price per kilogram of fruit picked.
Longans are $8 per kilogram and we only have cash facilities, no cards.
There is no entry fee to the farm.
Longan varieties are Kohala and Haew (How)/Chompoo.
Mango variety is Honey Gold (only available during February/March.)
What to bring:
Hat, sunscreen, suitable shoes for walking in a paddock, insect repellant,
Secateurs (like the ones you prune rose bushes with) – if you don’t have any, we can provide them. We take a $10 holding deposit that we refund when you return the secateurs. (Sometimes when we are really busy we run out).
Bags or containers for the fruit – we can provide plastic bags (free of charge)
Drinks: Bottled water is for sale
Your note re the Longon Sale disappeared once I logged in! No wonder there's been few posts these last couple of weeks. It's a nightmare.
Scrolling thru the individual topics in the Forum then Blogs is the only way I can see anything new.
Do wish the people we pay to maintain this site would earn their money.
