I am happy to announce that BLF gives me the odd, well deserved kick in the bottom - but only when I'm stupid. Let me explain.
I've been really busy relocating bananas. I paid attention to a few of our members warning Valerie about the potential damage banana plants can do. On checking, yes, they've broken my vege bed edges. Bloody hell! They're pushing the fence over! Oh no!!!! - there is a retaining wall under that fence!
Thus, I've spent a few days digging out bananas and relocating them. I still have to move a much smaller batch but that should be easier.
After quite a few years, I am starting to understand my micro-climates. I just had to listen to my own advice - don't plant anything on the south side in winter. Feel free to pick the citrus and be happy they survive. The north side will grow plants in winter. The opposite (but not completely) is true in summer. Don't plant softer stuff on the north or it will fry in summer.
In other news, I did the crazy impossible and split a native bee hive in winter. My advice is maybe ring an expert before you do an "Andy." Still, I got through.
And then.... drum roll... I am working on a very special secret project. It's a lot more work than I first expected, but I'm already happy with it.
Secret project - do tell!
ooh, sounds exciting!!
You've got our attention. More at the garden visit tomorrow?
Are you Crazy or What ?????
