I am trying to grow in sugar cane bales. I stacked them together and then spread home made compost on top to give my seedlings something to start growing on. However, as I only use cold compost all the seeds from the compost have come up as well, so I have lots of cherry toms, pumpkins, etc intermingled with my Broccoli, Red Cabbage, and Celeriac seedlings. Any one wanting tomato and pumpkins seedlings are invited to come and get them!
Also, here is one of my Black Krim Tomatoes, grown in an old bulk oil plastic container. Looking good. These are a very tasty type which I fully recommend.
