Hi Donna
We were looking at the website and are interested in 10 crowns @ $2.40 each also 2 packs (750g ea) of Salad Sensation potatoes @ $7.50 ea. This might be more cost effective for all of us if we all buy together.
Hi Donna, I'm keen to try some seed potatoes if you're interested or anyone else
Hi Vanessa
If you want we could pick say one type each & half them so we have two varieties... Let me check the website descriptions and I will let you know which ones I am interested in the most.
Hi Donna - are you selling these from home?? I'm interested :)
Hi Lyn
No *I wish*!! Green Harvest is a Qld based internet company that sells OP seeds and occasionally has other offerings. I noticed there was one coming up and thought it might be a good opportunity to see if anyone is interested so we could take advantage of the bulk prices.
Hi Donna
Do you or are you interested in a bulk order so that as a group we can have a variety of seeds?? I'm in the process of removing all plants from the front of my tiny house and replacing with a vege garden!! Exciting! I have a vege garden out the back but at the mome only gets an hour of sun a day :(
I'm interested in galangal red, horseradish, desiree and sebago spuds, turmeric and rhubarb.
Tumeric:
I have some tumeric which was given to my by Christopher (a member of our group) so am happy to share a few tubers of this with you - will give to you at the meeting.

Rhubarb:
I failed with Rhubarb last year, does NOT NEED FULL SUN - suffered permanent wilt! I think there might be a forum about it, a couple of members have it planted - pretty sure Christopher was one and maybe Scarlett. I will see if I can find the comments and get an update for you.

Horseradish:
Depending on what else I end up getting, I will probably buy these too.

Galangal:
I will get the other one and then we can look at swapping next year.

Spuds:
Not sure what to get yet... You have picked two, not sure how many potatoes are in a kg but were you looking at getting 1kg and mixing them so you have different varieties?

Who knows what I am *ever* thinking lol. I guess there were a few things that I was considering:
* Whether members already had particular plants and could swap
* Whether members recommended buying particular varieties from a shop with prior success
* If we got different things this year and had success we could share next year rather than buy

And also I thought if I did get a bulk order I might be able to negotiate a special deal being as we are part of the 'Local Seed Network' and dedicated to preserving OP heirloom & heritage varities lol...
Hi Donna, I'm happy to buy 1kg each of desiree and sebago. If you want to buy different varieties then I'm happy to swap 1/2 kg's of each. I'm figuring if other members haven't responded to buying bulk or sharing cuttings/root stock then we may as well buy and then set up a swap next season. I won't buy the turmeric if you are able to give me a root stock (thanks), but will still get galangal - red, horseradish, potatoes, asparagus and rhubarb. I would also love some comfrey, so if I don't hear from Florence soon then I'll order 25 root cuttings as well.
Hi Lyn
I have spoken to Green Harvest and they have no problem with ordering on Tuesday so maybe a few more people will look over the weekend. They will still arrive ready for distribution at my Garden Visit.
With regard to the comfrey, I don't think you would need 25 root cuttings... I have one and while I probably could use another one or two, it might be that mine is just in an area that is too shady - maybe someone else will comment on this.
Personally I would get as many asparagus as you can fit in your garden - the distance varies but is probably a minimum of 45cm between plants and I am sure that some recommend a lot more. I read that 10 plants feeds an average family once a week but Elaine reckons that 8 isn't enough.
I've never dug up my comfrey plants after I planted them a couple of years ago, so I don't know how much root cuttings I can get from digging one up, the top looks pretty big though. But I don't think I will have 25 ... I agree with Donna, you probably don't need that much unless you've got a large border you would like to plant...
