Brisbane Local Food

Growing local

Hi all,

I just been to the Post Office in Brisbane city, and spot a bargain I would like to share. They have a gardening books package on sale for $29.95, which includes four books and all are pretty much that price individually if buy from ABC shop or other bookshops (include those prices as reference) ~

$29.95 - Successful gardening in warm climate - Annette McFarlane
$27.95 - Organic vegetable gardening - Annette McFarlane
$27.95 - Habitat Garden - Peter Grant
$27.95 - Australian plants for year-round colour - Angus Stewart

I've got a copy of "Organic Vegetable Gardening" myself, and it is one of my most go to book for quick and easy referencing on when and how to plant as well as how many plants I need ~ ~ I have't got the other 3 books though ~ so can't comment on the others ~

Bugger, should have read this when you first posted it! I will check a couple this week, Annette McFarlane is highly recommended for our climate. And if I don't like the others I can give them away as presents!
Donna, were you able to get them? A family friend, who I've loan all my veggie garden books to while I was overseas have bought this package today from the GPO, and she said she's going to lend the ones I didn't have to me.

Also, I saw Annette McFarlane's new book "Successful gardening in warm climate" was selling for $34 or something at A&R by itself, so the PO package seems like a very good deal ~
Haven't had a chance, will look tomorrow. I am really only interested in the ones by Annette and they are really cheap.
My father in law gave me $70 for Christmas and I got this set, it had a 10% discount so ended up $23.95. I also got a copy of 'What Garden Pest or Disease is That' by Judy ?.

I am not really interested in The Habitat Garden or Australian Plants... books so if anyone else is interested I am happy to donate them :)
