Growing local

Anyone growing crabapples in Brisbane for the fruit?  I'm interested to know if any varieties work and where they can be sourced :)

Apples are tricky at best in our warm winters. Even the tropical Apples are difficult from which to get much of a crop. Interested to hear if anyone around about does grow Crab Apples. Have you searched Daley's? More likely to get a Crab Apple plant from down south which suggests they could be difficult to grow here.

Thanks, Elaine.  I've seen a few listed in northern NSW and have seen some trees along the New England Highway, but as you say, those are likely to be more cold loving.  I'm sure I came across someone a few years back growing them on the southside of Brisbane, but at that point I had no interest and now I cant recall or find any details of them.
