Brisbane Local Food

Growing local

For the next two weeks ABC is livestreaming some of Brisbane's native animals straight to you and our audience. #ABCWildOz is a window into the lives of the animal inhabitants of our cities: flying foxes, water dragons, squirrel gliders, birds, spiders and so much more.

Check out the stream and share it with your family and friends: You can contribute your pictures of Australian wildlife using #ABCWildOz on social or get in touch with the team at

Accompanying the stream is digital content to surprise and fascinate: social videos explaining animal behaviour, photo galleries of wildlife from across Australia and podcast episodes about amazing arachnids, water dragon evolution and Brisbane river's underwater sounds. The team will also answer the audience's questions about the native animals in their backyards, neighbourhoods and homes.

Will these programmes be archived eventually? I have no idea of the time these events will be 'live' to watch as they unfold.
