10 KM Radius- reducing food miles initiative dialogue opportunity

A new and exciting initiative is starting up at the Balmoral Markets on Sunday Mornings. A Back Yards market garden stall. Within 10km radius of Balmoral which includes Lota and Wynnum too. Northy Street as well as Beelerong and B4C community Gardens as well, and all teh other gardens in CGEN (Community Gardens East Network) l.
If you know of anyone with gardens producing food either at home or at the Community Gardens, and if these people have any produce to sell= even one item would be welcomed, please contact me ASAP if you are able to contribute veges, herbs, home grown and free range anything. Dialogue on line or phone 0407 059 509 (Nancy)
An email would suffice with your address, phone number and type of produce you have available to harvest to be picked up or for you to deliver to Balmoral Markets early Sunday Morning. 7:30 would be good timing as the stall will be set up and we will sort out details then.
Please join in and give it a try. We are hoping to reduce the food miles back to 10 km only.... A very worthwhile project for all concerned. A real feel good project for Sustainability. Reduce the food miles and reduce your environmental foot print.
Wamest regards to you all
