Working together with the Waste and Recycling Industry of Queensland (WRIQ) and their members, Council will be hosting a one day recycling display in Reddacliff place during National Recycling Week in November.
The display will provide information to residents about a broad range of services offered by Council and other recycling and resource recovery organisations including kerbside recycling, e-waste recycling, mobile phone recycling, organic recycling, metal and timber recycling. There will be a green waste recycling truck on display and information stalls from a number of recycling companies.
Elements of the display will include how to recycle and information on worm farming and composting. Council’s additional kerbside greenwaste collection service and the larger 340 litre kerbside recycling bin will be advertised and residents will be able to sign up on the day for a new service.
As part of the display industry members will provide information to residents on what happens to their recycling and how its processed.
