We have a wonderful project developing. An Inspiration Garden at Morningside. It is a Neighbourhood Permaculture Garden being built from scratch. Started small area 2 years ago and on 10/10 we had a big launch. Next event will be 5/12 from 7-11am. Hope a few volunteers can come and help create the herb garden. We are having an educational session on Herb Propagation. Free of charge and volunteers will be able to take whatever herbs they like home for their own garden.
Please go to Blog site theinspirationgarden.blogspot.com and RSVP if you can come so I can put together enough food for morning tea. I am finding that sharing food, even just a few leaves of silver beet is such a wonderful way to build community and share in one of our basic needs as human beings.
Always add photos using the "From my computer" option, even if you are on a mobile phone or other device.
Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion. It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)
GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
