SUNDAY 25TH JUNE AT 10AM – 77 FLAXTON MILL RD, FLAXTON
Local organic gardening expert and author Jeffrey Hodges has kindly invited us to visit his garden at Flaxton.
Jeffrey has more than 40yrs practical gardening experience. He studied agricultural science, has degrees in Environmental Studies and Social Ecology but most importantly has a great deal of experience in gardening in SEQ. Jeffrey worked and studied at the Findhorn community in Scotland and refined and adapted their methods to suit Australian conditions.
Preface to The Organic Garden: This is a book for gardeners of the heart. In you're only interested in results - in growing huge tomatoes or giant cabbages - then perhaps it won't impress you. If, however, you've ever gazed in awe at the beauty of the early morning dew glistening on your first poppy in spring; if you've watched with humility and wonder as the tiny seeds you planted last week burst through the surface of the soil to lift their first little leaves to the sun; if you truly love plants......then this book is for you.
Re "terrain" my place is flat around to the vege garden with concrete paths so should not be a problem. Re car parking, there is a space for maybe three cars on my property but ample space on footpaths on both sides of the road.
Yes I can have some books for sale if people are interested.
PLEASE NOTE RE TOILET AMENITIES:
Jeffrey’s home doesn't have amenities for a large group (one small ensuite only) - please visit the public amenities in Montville at 159 Main Street (5mins before you get to Jeffrey's place).
