I am holding a top bar beekeeping workshop in Alderley, Brisbane on Sunday January 29 from 8 to 11am (includes a tea break).
This is a beginner’s workshop for those who would like to get some up-close experience with European honeybees in a top bar hive. You may be interested in keeping a hive and want to gain confidence and basic knowledge or just to find out if beekeeping is for you.
We will safely explore the basic activities of beekeeping including initial setup, hive inspection and honey extraction.
Veils will be supplied (unless you have your own protective gear – please advise).
Please wear light coloured, long sleeved shirts, trousers and closed shoes, socks, leather gloves and a hat.
Cost is $50, $85 for couples
Numbers are limited. Please book via email to paul@brisbanebackyardbees.com.au or phone 0414 333 069 before Jan 20.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
