Event Description

Sandstone Point Hotel, 1800 Bribie Island road, Bribie, Australia

The 1st Annual Strawberry Festival is being held Saturday 19th September at Sandstone Point Hotel to celebrate one of the biggest farming industries in Queensland.

With 40% of Queensland strawberries coming from the Moreton Bay Region we have a great reason to celebrate the delicious and nutritious fruit.

President of the Queensland Strawberry Growers Association, Luigi Coco says the Strawberry Festival will be a great opportunity to highlight the work our Queensland Farmers do.

“The Queensland Strawberry Industry is excited about the Sandstone Point Hotel Strawberry Festival coming up in September. It’s fantastic to finally have an event in the area that celebrates strawberries, and we hope that the community gets behind this wonderful initiative. It will be a great day for the whole family!” says Luigi.

Taste N See Strawberry Farmer/Grower, Merv Schiffke is also excited to be involved and says it will give growers the chance to showcase some of the wonderful strawberries grown in the South East.
“This area, from Caboolture to the Sunshine Coast is one of the largest strawberry growing regions in Australia. The Festival is a great opportunity to promote and boost consumer awareness and give them an understanding of the magnitude of the Queensland Strawberry Industry” says Merv.

No strawberry will be overlooked with farm fresh strawberry stalls, strawberry milkshakes, chocolate coated strawberries and the introduction of The Strawberry Patch Bar which is an exclusive addition to the festival that will specialise in an all strawberries drinks menu.

The family fun day will be filled with live entertainment, kid’s rides and finishing off with a fireworks display.

I hope so too. Will try to get to this one as family live nearby and might want to come too.

Sounds amazing. I hope there will be organic growers there or at least non-toxic-spray growers. We've eaten our last commercial Strawberries :-(
