9am – 12pm: Sustainable Housing - with Barb Ford - PDC Series

Housing is one of the highest contributing sectors to energy usage.

This workshop will provide you with information and skills regarding efficient housing design for your environment, including approaches such as passive heating and cooling, how to implement new design and/or retrofitting, selecting appropriate materials and other considerations, and how to best make use of your garden to improve the efficiency of your home.

Cost: $50 / $35  (Healthcare Card holder)

GrowVetiver

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion.  It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
