Christopher Rew is an Eco-Building Designer based at Mapleton. He has a degree in Architecture from the University of Sydney and has been designing and building energy efficient homes since 1988. He lived at Crystal Waters Permaculture Village for ten years, designing and helping to build, a wide range of eco-friendly homes there, as well as numerous rammed earth houses throughout S.E. Queensland. His “butterfly” house at Witta won the BDA Environmental Design Award for Queensland in 2001 and featured on Solar-House Open Day.

These designs, known as “TropEco”, have evolved to incorporate 25 years of eco-design experience. Chris will then be open for questions and discussion regarding eco-house design ideas and specific situations.
