9am – 12pm: Seasonal Vegetable Gardening for the Subtropics – with Bunya Halasz

Tune into Autumn time and further develop your gardening skills with a detailed exploration of vegetable crops for spring planting. We will also help you to build the productivity of your soil as well as how to best manage this precious resource and protect your crops from pests and disease through crop rotation, companion planting and more…

Cost: $50 / $35  (Healthcare Card holder) or $85 / $65 (Healthcare Card holder) when booked together with Establishing and Maintaining a Vegetable Garden

1pm -4pm: Establishing and Maintaining a Vegetable Garden – with Bunya Halasz

Hands on workshop to teach you the skills to turn garden waste and organic materials into your own no-dig vegetable garden. Learn the art of planting, growing and maintaining your own home vegetable patch.

GrowVetiver

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion.  It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
