Now in its third year, Regional Flavours has become a signature South Bank event that is not only about showcasing gourmet regional produce and supporting local producers and farmers, but also about the promotion of sustainable food practices.
Regional Flavours will play host up to 100 market stalls showcasing Queensland’s best sustainable producers, farmers and organisations. Throughout the weekend sample some of Queensland award-winning food, wine & unique flavours on offer. This event is not only about gourmet regional produce and supporting local producers, but also about getting people to think about their food choices and how to be more sustainable consumers. All visitors will have the opportunity to learn from the experts how regional production influences and affects city-based food choices. This year we will be shining a light on producers who have been through hard times and how they have come through the hardship of the 2011 flood event. Discover the secrets behind our farmers daily challenges and inspiring successes. An exciting event program will entertain and educate with highlights including cooking demonstrations by leading local celebrity chefs and MasterChef contestants. Be inspired to get your hands dirty with well-known celebrity gardeners & pause to hear from the experts on sustainable living and how you can support your local farming community. Regional Flavours is presented by South Bank Corporation with the support of media partners Channel 10, Bmag and 612 ABC and event partner Queensland Government. EVENT TIMES
