Practical Uses for Bamboo Structures in the Garden

Tim’s presentation will include a general overview of the uses of bamboo and earth as building materials around the world. In particular, he will discuss and demonstrate how these materials can be readily and easily utilised in the environment and climate of the Sunshine Coast. Techniques and skills used to build simple structures from garden structures to chook pens, sheds and studios will also be shared. Guidance as to preferred varieties of bamboo to grow in regards to their best purpose will be offered as well.
Bookings are NOT required
This workshop is free and will run for approximately 1½ to 2 hours.

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion. It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)
GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
