Here’s your chance to mix, mingle and get a photo with a national, real food hero. Costa will give a talk about the future of local food, food security and more. Also featured on the night:

Food and drinks
Grab some slow food and beer and chill out.

Costa will be launching RipeNearMe's crowdfunding campaign on the day to take their food-sharing platform to a whole new level (more details to come). We'll be taking pledges and donations for the campaign on the night (totally optional).

 

Slow Food Brisbane will be raising awareness for the amazing work they do to improve health, the environment and food security, and we want to share those with you.

Thanks for that advice, Alistair.  I've registered with eventbrite now.  It would certainly been a pity to have turned up not knowing there was another place where registration was needed.

GrowVetiver

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion.  It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
