This workshop series will teach you how to create and manage a healthy, productive organic food garden growing your own vegetables and herbs. You will be studying both the theory and practice of organic gardening. There are four workshops in the series, held each fortnight over a period of two months. The topics covered at each workshop session are:
1.Planning your food garden and working your soil.
2.Planting and garden care.
3.Dealing with pests and diseases.
4.Harvesting and seed saving.
The workshop series is suitable for beginner to moderate level experienced food gardeners. You will be able to see the concepts applied in the presenter's garden and work with these in a practical way during the workshop sessions.
Peter Kearney is an experienced organic gardener and workshop presenter. Peter writes extensively about food gardening and his web site at www.cityfoodgrowers.com.au provides gardeners all over Australia and internationally with easy access to answers of their most common food gardening questions.
The workshop sessions are run during the week on a Wednesday from 9.15am to 1.30pm at 203 Wights Mt Road, Wights Mountain via Samford, Brisbane. Workshop 1 of the series commences on the 5th August, with remaining workshops on the 19th August, 2nd and 16th of September.
The workshop fee is $37 per session or $135 for the series of four workshops, if the total is paid at the beginning of the first workshop. A scrumptious morning tea is included, as well as workshop materials. An online follow up service is also provided to support your gardening questions.
