Event Description

The greatly anticipated Winter Solstice Festival returns on the 22nd of June, 2013! Come and join us in celebrating the longest night of the year at Northey Street City Farm.  The music & kids’ activities will kick off around  4pm, with an opening ceremony and kids fire from 5:20…followed by performances from some of SEQ’s best bands and artists across 2 stages.  Shortly after 10pm, the procession to light the giant bonfire begins, with drumming, dancing, ceremony and celebration.
There will also be a Jam Circle from 6pm down at the bonfire site - so bring your instruments, music, poetry, soapbox inspiration and creativity to throw into the melting pot…
ENTRY IS FREE!… however we will be seeking donations to help us give back to the community. So, don’t forget your gold coins & spare change to go in the draw for some great lucky door prizes!
Fabulous food and drinks will be on sale from 4pm at the Chai Cafe, cob ovens, sausage sizzle & near the main stage.

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
