Wouldn’t it be great if we could all get together and spend time over a leisurely lunch in an historic location by the sea. Where we will have some of the best views in Redcliffe, at Preece's at the Jetty. The eatery at the end of the pier has been a community hub since 1932 and the building has been sensitively restored to accentuate the sea views. The menu is Modern Australian, but the kitchen is best known for its hamburgers, pizza and pasta. The Queensland seafood is pretty good too, and what better place to enjoy it than by the water. I have attached a site to view the menu. I do know they have very good specials of the day. Whilst there you can also visit the Markets. Perhaps do a little Christmas Shopping. Bookings: I will need numbers 2 weeks before the event. I have made a preliminary booking. |

The Restaurant is BYO, with a corkage fee of $2.00 per person.
I have booked the table for 14 and asked for the best table with the best view. We can add more numbers if we get more. Come on all you other members, think of it as an early Christmas celebration.
No it is not too late to book, we would like to see as many members as possible come along especially as it may be the last event I am able to attend this year. Had the MRI today to see just what and how much of me will be left. Will see all the rest of the Specialists during the rest of this week. I really have a dislike for this word Cancer, but as I have been there before I am told by many that I will beat it.
Right well the seating is both outside on the wide footpath and inside with the fans.
Outside is under a marquee-type roof with zippered side walls in case of rain.
Inside is the main body of the cafe and more seats up the side hallway towards the loos.
The cafe has been remodelled and extended, they have taken over the next door shop and that is the part which is the kitchen too. You can see them preparing food.
A chair probably would get in the way ... are you able to book? I have no idea about that, since I don't usually go to Redcliffe on a Sunday.
Tree? No idea, no trees except if I remember correctly, some small street trees. Nothing to sit under these days.
Dianne, Is it too late for us to make a late booking. I had not noticed the event somehow.
We will certainly get there early enough for breakfast and to have a good look around the markets before lunch. I know there is even a fortune teller (or do I really want to know).
Elaine do you know if they have setting in the market area, or is it advisable to take a small chair along. I remember when we used to go years ago there was a big tree we sat under and listened to live music, it was such fun.
'At the end of the jetty' sounds like it is on the sea end of the jetty. The restaurant is on the land with a view along the jetty.
Sunday is a murderous day to be in Redcliffe. Parking is at a premium if you can find it. We can get a bus from home but few in BLF will have that luxury. The Market is spread along a wide footpath and is jam packed.
If you wanted a leisurely lunch on the weekend, Saturday is much preferred (at least by me!).
However, the food IS really good. It is a licensed restaurant and has a decent loo. Service is pretty quick given that Sunday is incredibly busy. Prices are similar to other places serving fresh food with a wonderful outlook.
Give yourself plenty of time to park, Redcliffe has a lot of off-street parking but Sunday is packed. Packed!
Always add photos using the "From my computer" option, even if you are on a mobile phone or other device.
