Event Description

Managing Pests in your Backyard

Kirsten Small

9.30 am

You've planted up a new part of your garden, but something annoying always seems to come along and undo your good work. This workshop teaches simple principles that won't harm the earth or cost an arm or a leg that will help you keep those pests at bay.

Dr Kirsten Small is a Sunshine Coast Gynaecologist and Permaculture Designer. Over the past 5 years she has been slowly transforming her suburban Nambour property using permaculture principles. What was a bare block of land now supports over 50 fruit trees, a flock of chickens and four vegetable patches which together contribute a significant amount to the daily diet of the family. She is going to share her experience of what works and what doesn't when it comes to pest control in the suburbs.
