KEPERRA SANCTUARY COMMUNITY GARDEN OPEN DAY
The garden is newly created – planting started in April - and is comprised of several tank gardens and raised beds planted up with a diverse range of vegetables, herbs and flowers as well as a small orchard area.
The Community garden club has about 25 members, 10-12 of whom work in it regularly.
We are growing organically which is a fairly new concept for some of the residents and we are all learning many things about soils, soil life and how to keep our plants happy.
We are working towards being able to make some produce available to the Village community for free or a small donation.
Our Community Garden will be open 1.30pm-4pm on the 27th August 2016 as part of the Annual Open Garden Day of the Keperra Sanctuary Retirement Village, with the additional opportunity to visit some of the private gardens opening that day.
There will be a raffle with proceeds, after costs, going to support our CG (yay) and afternoon tea for a very small cost will be served at 3-4 gardens if people would like refreshments.
