This masterclass will look at how to succeed in a diverse small-farm enterprise, focusing on:
Joel's seminal book You Can Farm has been highly influential to many small-farm producers and beginner farmers worldwide, which are looking for cost effective and ethical ways to get into farming on a small scale.
For the first time in QLD, Joel will spend an entire day explaining the nuts and bolts of Polyface Farm's innovative animal and operations which are now taking off in the small-farm scene in the USA, due to so many farmers going to Polyface Farms to see how it's done.
This Masterclass is the next best thing to spending a week at Polyface Farms in Virginia, observing and learning about the farm. Joel's accessible and friendly speaking style means you'll get a heap out of this day.
Regular Q&A during the Masterclass will ensure that your questions get answered, and that you'll leave this masterclass with a good understanding of what is involved to get a profitable small farm operation up and running, so you can get farming!
FEE $226.49 (via the Regen Ag website)
Jade say hello to Kim & Lucy House, they farm freerang pigs at Baralaba. I've just had a pork delivery from them.
If you're up for plenty of work, 7 days a week and long days too I reckon - then the rewards could be worth it. Young and strong is a good starting point.
It's a shame you can't make it, but very good of you to share the link here. I didn't even think to do it, to be honest. I believe Joel is doing two sets of Masterclasses this time around -- ^^ this one in Gatton and another at Milkwood Permaculture in Mudgee, NSW.
Oh wouldn't it be lovely to buy a farm? Good luck :)
I would love to go - I almost travelled up to NSW for the course last year (but I've moved to Victoria now, so will have to hang out for one down here - I think he is doing one actually). Still dithering on whether to buy a farm..
I'll be there! We bought our tickets ages ago and can't wait! Getting excited now! I hope to see some of you there :)
Always add photos using the "From my computer" option, even if you are on a mobile phone or other device.
