26th August – How to Plant Tropical Permaculture Food Crops with Kilagi Nielsen (9.30 am).
Learn how to plant crops such as Cassava, Taro, Cocoyam and Sweet Potato for ease of management and to maximise harvest. Kilagi grew up in New Guinea where planting, harvesting and cooking these foods were part of her traditional lifestyle. Kilagi has an extensive and practical knowledge and loves to share and teach others. You will come away from this workshop with new skills and knowledge that can be put into practice in your home garden. Plants and cuttings will be available where possible for you to purchase on the day. Cost: $5 Non-Members, Gold coin for Members, Free to Regular Volunteers Duration 1.5-2 hours.
