Event Description

22nd July Workshop – How to Create a Bushfood Garden with Veronica Cougan (9.30 am)

For thousands of years, ‘bushfood’ plants have been an integral part of our indigenous people’s staple diet and culture. Today these native foods are being ‘rediscovered’ by contemporary Australians & appreciated for the unique flavours they offer us. Join Veronica from Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery as she shares her knowledge and experiences, gained over 18 years involvement with Native food plants, on how to create a Bushfood garden so you can enjoy the ‘Wild Taste of the Rainforest’ in your backyard. Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery specialises in quality native food plants for the home gardener and commercial grower (www.witjutigrub.com.au). Veronica has generously donated this workshop to Yandina Community Gardens.

Cost: $5 Non-Members, Gold coin for Members, Free to Regular Volunteers

Duration 1.5-2 hours. Bookings are NOT required.
