Event Description

Growing Espaliered Fruit Trees

Saturday 9 May

9-12midday   at Ecobotanica 8 Silverash Court Capalaba

Do you want to grow fruit trees but you have limited space? Espalier could be the answer for you. It’s the age-old art of growing fruit trees on a flat plane along wires, on walls, fences or between posts. I started my first espalier in my 20s and got hooked on it then. I’ll show you how espalier can work for you to increase your fruit production in even the narrowest, smallest or trickiest little spots.

We’ll look at which fruit tree varieties espalier well, how to plant, train, trim and harvest your fruit. It’s a fun thing to do and a skill everyone can learn. This class is only run once per year, so don’t miss out!  $60
