Sophie has written a piece about her Garden;
We have lived here for 3 years, but the garden only really started taking off Feb 2016 (after a few false starts). Started from scratch with pretty much no garden skills or knowledge but with plenty of motivation, and healthy dose of inspiration from BLF! What used to be baron dry lawn is now an eclectic dry Vegie Patch in transition. Currently many Annuals due to indecisiveness of where things will go but do have some young Fruit Trees in Wicking Pots. We have not needed to buy Salad Greens in 3 months; any thing else is bonus. Hopefully something will survive the Summer and we will be blessed with some rain in early 2017 and have something to show for it. Our reactive clay might be concrete or bog, though the polystyrene Wicking Boxes and Hugel-esque mounds should provide some respite. Sweet Potato galore, and some Verge action. We have a Tropical Garden Section with Pawpaw and Banana circle. I do try to interplant bee attracting flowers with herbs around the place. We would like to have native beehive and chooks soon. There is currently not much shade but we are putting up a Marquis to help with this. Gentle sidewards slope, 4 steps to house for bathroom, plenty of on street parking.
Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.
Please bring a small plate of food or drink to share and any plants, produce or seed that you would like to share, swap or sell.
Please bring along a chair & mug as we do not have enough for everyone.
RSVP required so that the address can be sent to you closer to the date. The email address you nominated when you joined will be used. Please update this if it has changed.
Late attendees welcome. Message Dianne or phone 0407691485 on the day for the address.
