Event Description

SATURDAY 5TH MARCH 10AM TO 12.30PM

ADDRESS SENT 01.03.16 TO ALL WHO RSVP.

Valerie is a busy working Mum with a young family living on a normal suburban block. You would be astounded at what they have fitted into that block:

Valerie's words:

Small humble urban garden with different types of beds. Currently growing a variety of vegetables, flowers, coffee, some barely surviving multi-graft citrus, bananas, passion fruit, lychees and lots of native weeds.

My aim is to create a self-sufficient garden with flowers for bees and decoration and herbs. Surviving veggies are usually a perk.

We also have 3 chicken and a quail. All woodwork masterly crafted by my beloved husband.

Children welcome on the trampoline (supervised by parents)

Garden is set on a more or less levelled flat surface. No stairs. Plenty of parking in the street.

Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.

Please bring a small plate of food or drink to share and any plants, produce or seed that you want to share, swap or sell.

RSVP required for the address to be sent closer to the date to the email address you nominated when you joined.

Late attendees welcome. Message Lissa or phone on the day for the address.

IT'S GOOD TO HAVE A VARIETY OF PEOPLE REPORTING ON THESE GV'S TO GIVE DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES. LOOKING FOR A VOLUNTEER TO TAKE SOME PHOTOS ON THE DAY AND WRITE UP A REPORT IN THEIR OWN WORDS. ANY ONE LIKE TO OFFER?

We did miss you Michael. Damn those unco-operative legs!

Sorry I didn't make it today but the legs weren't working good enough. Hope you all had a good one.

Lovely that you and Brigid were able to come along Sophie :)

Probably a good idea to PM Valerie about your container. Click on her name and send her a friend request. Valerie may not be coming to the next GV. If not, I might be able to pick it up one day while coming home from work and bring it. Let me know if that is needed.

lovely to meet you all! Thanks Valerie for hosting and Dianne for the amazing Plum cake!! In all the excitement I left my large rectangular plastic food container - can someone pleease hang onto it for me for the next GV? Cheers

I have a bucket of DF cuttings to bring and an Aibika cutting for Dianne.

Does anyone want anything in particular (cuttings or seeds) from my garden?

Hi Susanne, I can hopefully make it tomorrow and would be interested. Thanks

I purchased 20litres of vermiculite as it was about $24 and 5 litres was around $9.
There is about half left in the bag and it will take me a while to mix my way through what I've already made up.
I was wondering if anyone wanted some at $2.50 for 2 litres?
If anyone does then I'll bring the bag, a jug, a mask, and some old shopping bags and you can measure your own quantity at Valerie's.
