Event Description

SUNDAY MAY 7th 10.00am TO 12.00pm

Susan is having her GV to replace Sophie's - Sophie will be having hers a little later.

Well you know how much we love Susan's Spring Rolls  well during her GV there will be a Demonstration on just how to Wrap, Fold and Cook Banana Springs Rolls.

On street parking is available.  Ground is mostly flat but there are uneven pavers and things which people might trip over.  Children welcome but we have a boisterous dog.  Heaps of fruit trees, wicking beds, bees and chooks to see all on a 580 sq m block of land.  Hopefully the vegie patch will be thriving in May and there will be lots to see.

Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.

Please bring a small plate of food or drink to share and any plants, produce or seed that you would like to share, swap or sell.

It is always a good idea to bring along a chair as we do sometimes have more visitors than chairs available at GV gardens.

RSVP required so that the address can be sent to you closer to the date. The email address you nominated when you joined will be used. Please update this if it has changed.

Late attendees welcome. Message Dianne or phone 0407691485 on the day for the address.

Or ... if the next time you make them, take a pic or three and write up the recipe in the Recipe section ...

Banana Spring Rolls sound wonderful. I do hope that there will be a photo and text report so we who cannot get there can learn too.

Sophie is having her GV a little later in the year and Susan has been good enough to take her date. Hope to see a good roll up to Susan's Garden, there is always something new and exciting in her garden a real example of how to grow many Food Plants on a smallish block.

This will be Sophie's first GV and I am sure a lot of our members are keen to seen her garden in the flesh (so to speak), we have watched from the beginning in photos and seen how her garden has blossomed. Thanks so much Sophie for the opportunity to visit.

About this site

Welcome to Brisbane Local Food (BLF)!

This site was created by Scarlett Patrick, to build capacity in the Brisbane  community for growing, buying, and living sustainably. Six years on, BLF is an important hub to promote, discuss, share and learn about local food growing, production, gardens, services and activities happening in our part of the world.

This site exists for you - make the most if it!

BLF is motivated by passion, not profit. We thank all volunteers and members who make this an active and inspiring space to be, as well as those individuals, organisations and groups working to make the future greener.

What is local?
The closer the better - but regional and global activities are important too.

Why local?
To reduce food miles, increase food freshness & security, improve social outcomes and reduce the unused outputs of our living environments - like stormwater and green waste.

Brisbane is a sub-tropical city in Queensland, Australia.
