Event Description

Come visit our very own Elaine's in their Wicking Paradise.

Elaine will hold two visits close together as usual - one on Friday 8th and the other Sunday 10th.

From Elaine:

On-street parking. Short uphill walk to back yard which is flat. No fences in the front part of the garden. A couple of spare folding chairs will be handy.

If ever a garden can be said to be 'finished' ours is close to that. In that we've upwards of 2 dozen wicking beds or bins and that's about as many as we can fill. So far most plants are doing well. Some are around 5 years in the bins and have fruited each year for us. Others are just hitting their straps and coming into fruit for the first time.

If you're interested in wicking beds, we have a number of different styles and are happy to discuss wicking beds and their variants. We do have some plants in the ground so it is not all wicking beds! The Hugelkultur bed should be close to being used by GV time.

We're happy to have BLFers along on the Friday and/or the Sunday.

Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.

Please bring a small plate of food or drink to share and any plants, produce or seed that you would like to share, swap or sell.

It is always a good idea to bring along a chair as we do sometimes have more visitors than chairs available at GV gardens.

RSVP required so that the address can be sent to you closer to the date. The email address you nominated when you joined will be used. Please update this if it has changed.

Late attendees welcome. Message Dianne or phone 0407691485 on the day for the address.

Thank You so much Elaines for hosting this GV.

It's easy. Check HERE read the blurb and message Dianne

A dear friend invited me to the Garden Show today.  Had to say no to that as well.

The easy answer is to move your birthday to early May with me - we could cook up a home grown storm!

It is, forgot that :-( I'll make it another month next year. Otoh, Abbey and Nambour Garden Show celebrate my birthday :-\

Hey Elaines - this is my Abbey weekend.

I love Comfrey and Lucerne - such good soil/compost improvers.

Cool Susan! I've got heaps of plants to take cutting from and Comfrey and Lucerne to dig up. If you would like some Comfrey bring some big bags (30L) or boxes, they are big plants.

I still have Friday off work - so looking forward to it!

It's quite a hike. By train I can pick you up from Burpengary station else it's 2 busses and walk from the train. If it were me, I's settle for car door to door ;-)

I will do my best to get to your Friday GV. Are you close to public Transport that I might be able to get from here. I will certainly be there for the Sunday GV.
