SUNDAY 16TH OCTOBER 10AM TO 12PM
We all love to re-visit Susan's amazing garden and check out the new plantings and animals and see how far her guerrilla plantings on "borrowed" land have travelled.
From Susan:
Kids welcome but we do have a boistrous dog.
We have 9 thriving wicking vegie beds that produce about half of our vegie needs. Many different fruit trees, most in infancy but have fully productive lychees, mango, bananas, apple, multigraft stone fruit, lemon, orange, pawpaw and mulberry tree.
In wicking barrels, I have a few different varieties of raspberries which are loving being down the side of the house and some figs.
We have also *extended* parts of our garden into the park that we back on to with a cassava patch, sweet potato patch and a walnut and pecan tree.
In my bid for greater self sufficiency we have a top bar beehive, chickens that provide a mix of brown, blue & white eggs and have just added Muscovy ducks (for eating) to the menagerie.
This year, my aim is to beautify the yard. Hopefully by the time you come to visit, the rock path, ornamental shade garden and fish pond will be complete and I will have looked after my roses so they are flowering too.
An added bonus, the hippeastrums will be in full bloom and I'll have some bulbs to give away.
Plenty of on street parking. Some stairs up to the back verandah where we sit for morning tea. Otherwise the yard is flat for walking.
Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.
Please bring a small plate of food or drink to share and any plants, produce or seed that you would like to share, swap or sell.
It is always a good idea to bring along a chair as we do sometimes have more visitors than chairs available at GV gardens.
RSVP required so that the address can be sent to you closer to the date. The email address you nominated when you joined will be used. Please update this if it has changed.
Late attendees welcome. Message Dianne or phone 0407691485 on the day for the address.
Thank You so much Susan for hosting this GV.

Thank you all! Cathie gave me half her tree and now I have a mulberry forest of cuttings, let's see how they go! Would be interested in the white one :) GV Report coming shortly
Sophie, I have many new mulberry branches available as I need to lop some higher older branches off which have many of this spring's new shoots. I will refrain from pruning the high parts for a little while longer.
Apologies Susan and all, I cannot make it today.
Sorry folks, I'm not going to make it tomorrow.
Sophie, I have a white mulberry if that's of any interest to you. The fedge sounds like a great project.
Sophie I'll go out and inspect the mulberry tree for appropriate cuttings... the new growth on it is pretty whippy -technical term ;) - so not sure if that would work but there may be a spare branch there.... will let you know. you can repay me with the recipe for your lovely rhubarb jam!
Sorry to hear Cheryl. Hope he's better and you can come :)
Susan, just wanted to let you know I am now not sure if I will make it on Sunday. Craig (my son) is fairly sick at the moment, had him in hospital this morning, home now, but he is not looking much better. Will have to play it by ear.
Address sent at 8.43am Thurs 13th, Please let me know if you do not receive it, and I will have to send it to you by PM. See you there.
Sophie, Coffee Trees would be a very good subject for this.
Always add photos using the "From my computer" option, even if you are on a mobile phone or other device.
