Event Description

SUNDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER 10.00AM TO 12.00PM

Graham and I would like to welcome BLF Members & Guests to visit our garden.

I am a Moon Gardener and try to follow the different phases of the Moon to get all my Garden Tasks done I enjoy the principles of this Age Old System of Farming, Fishing and Gardening. I also believe in growing Companion Plants and Beneficial Insect Plants throughout my garden. The Native Bees feel very much at home here with the Blue Tongues and other Native Marsupials.

I am an Old Fashioned Gardener though I am beginning to use more modern techniques as I progress with my Vegetable Garden. I grow many of my Plants, Fruit Trees and Kitchen Garden Herbs in Terracotta Pots. It works for me. I also grow Many Salvias, Cottage Plants and Roses. You will find many Vegetables and Herbs growing in with the Roses and in the Cottage Garden.

We have a little Parking in the yard, though there is plenty of Street Parking. The Terrain is mostly flat and even, though there is a path that has a few ups and downs, the result of tree roots that would like to live inside with us.

It has proved popular for some of our members to go and share a meal nearby after the GV. I am in the process of enquiring about going for lunch to the very popular Vietnamese Restaurant in Inala. You would possibly be able to visit the Asian Market whilst there. It is so popular; I hear the food is excellent and not too badly priced.

Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.

Please bring a small plate of food or drink to share and any plants, produce or seed that you would like to share, swap or sell.

It is always a good idea to bring along a chair as we do sometimes have more visitors than chairs available at GV gardens.

RSVP required so that the address can be sent to you closer to the date. The email address you nominated when you joined will be used. Please update this if it has changed.

Late attendees welcome. Message Dianne or phone 0407691485 on the day for the address.

Has anyone who is coming to the next garden visit got some Yacon growing pieces to bring? I would like to get some if possible. I can bring Honey, Fig cuttings, Pomegranate cuttings, along for you if you like.

I endorse Dianne's comments about visiting Inala shops. The Vietnamese community have turned these shops into a very interesting place to visit. You will find unusual veges and ingredients there as well as a huge range of fish, meats etc. I also recommend the Vietnamese restaurant. As en ex migrant from the living in Inala, it has certainly changed for the better.
