Event Description

SATURDAY DECEMBER 12TH 10AM

ADDRESS SENT 08.12.15 TO THOSE WHO RSVP OR WHO WILL RSVP.

Christmas has come around again and a big thank you to Gayle and her family for agreeing to hold our get together at her home and garden.

Please bring a gift to the value of $10 to swap on the day.

There have been some big changes to Gayle's garden.

This is a suburban garden with native sections for wildlife, flowers for the birds and bees, edibles for all, 2 above ground ponds. Bamboo in pots for shade. Lemon, avocado and fig trees in pots. Minimal grassed area, and a pool which I dream of turning into a massive underground water tank. Flat site with a sloped driveway.
Parts of the garden will be quite different to the way it was at the last GV. A housing development in the field behind means that the back retaining wall has gone which will change how light, wind, rain and water-runoff affect much of the garden.
New microclimates to discover and create.  We have also gained several inches of ground and access to the back of the garden shed for climbers.  Lizards need to find new homes. Possums need to find new pathways.
The coffee machine will be on.

Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.

Please bring a small plate of food or drink to share and any plants, produce or seed that you want to share, swap or sell.

RSVP required for the address to be sent closer to the date to the email address you nominated when you joined.

Late attendees welcome. Message Lissa or phone on the day for the address.

WANT TO HOST A GV OF YOUR OWN?

It's easy. Check HERE read the blurb and contact Lissa.

IT'S GOOD TO HAVE A VARIETY OF PEOPLE REPORTING ON THESE GV'S TO GIVE DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES. LOOKING FOR A VOLUNTEER TO TAKE SOME PHOTOS ON THE DAY AND WRITE UP A REPORT IN THEIR OWN WORDS. ANY ONE LIKE TO OFFER?

There is plenty of undercover seating.  Just a nice steady drizzle here - soaking in nicely.

Solar Citizens looks very interesting. I have signed up for their emails and will have a better look at the site when I have a little more free time.

I'll bring some snake beans, Ivy Gourd and whatever else I can lay my hands on on the morning.

There are some small seedling RED PAPAYAS available. I have not potted them and will have them in damp wrapped bundles of 6 free for the taking from the swap table.

With Gayle's permission I will have some postcards about our Sun-powered future. Idea is to fill one in, put a stamp on it, post it to Solar Citizens and it will be delivered to Parliament house in early 2016. With enough ordinary Australians prepared to stand up to this government, we should see a distinct improvement in their attitude to renewables.

I will leave the cards on the swap table - please take as many as you can get completed and posted.
