Here is a little about Doug's Garden:

I moved to my current block of 1/2 an acre in Camira about 5 years ago. It was a run down house (renovated now) and overgrown garden with large gum trees, silky oaks and palms. I cleared most of the block leaving one ironbark, a lemon myrtle, frangipani and hibiscus.

As I started thinking about landscaping I thought 'why not plant something that will give me something back' and so began an endless search for interesting and tasty fruit trees. There is about 130 fruit trees, a small area of veges, chickens, ducks and quail.

My wife lets me do what I want as long as it looks tidy which requires never ending work but I love it and most visitors love to wander around amongst the plants. We have a lap pool that people are welcome to cool off in the weather is still warm.

Lots of room to park on the street and ignore the bus stop sign as buses do not come here anymore but the council left the seat and sign.

Children welcome but must be supervised by parents at all times.

Please bring a small plate of Food or Drink to share, and any plants, produce or seed that you would like to share, swap or sell.

It is always a good idea to bring along a chair as we do sometimes have more visitors than chairs available at GV gardens.

RSVP required so that the link can be sent to you closer to the date. The email address you nominated when you joined will be used. Please update this if it has changed.

Late attendees welcome. Message Dianne or phone 0407691485 on the day for the address.

Did I miss the virtual GV?   Do we have a video coming to the site?

Give me a ring if you need help with the video upload stuff Doug.  I've also edited the title and stuff to reflect that it is a virtual visit.

Missed this somehow. Yes Andrew I am going to do a videi on Saturday, just been figuring out youtube and how to upload etc. Yes Christa I had a week off to put my leg up and it seems to be healing, have a big knee brace on to stop me doing more damage, I was carrying a massive laminated timber bearer and slipped and hyperextended my leg, was painful at the time and my knee looked like a rockmelon but my physio is happy with its recovery so it could have been worse. Its fine to do a video.

Sorry to hear about your damaged knee, Doug. Hope things come good for you soon.  Would be good if you can manage a virtual tour, that is if you can walk.
