Event Description

For those who have been experimenting with compost but want to go a little deeper Northey Street City Farm is hosting a compost master class this Sunday 13 June from 12.30 to 4pm.

The workshop will be hands-on and cover the science of compost (compost ecology and biology, compost chemistry and the anatomy of a good compost heap) and the art of compost (a basic recipe for great compost, how to pick a healthy compost, the ingredients of compost and how to manage them, specialty compost, best practice compost building, trouble shooting a sick compost heap)

The workshop is funded through Brisbane City Council and places are limited. To book contact Kirsty by emailing info@nscf.org.au

GrowVetiver

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion.  It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
