Saturday the 17th of February
9am-4pm: For The Love Of Bees – Beginner Beekeeping Course with Lachlan Collopy

In this full day course my hope is to give you an insight into the basic tools and skills you will need to get started with beekeeping. I also hope to impart to you simple principles that will allow you feel empowered and capable on your beekeeping journey.

On the Day we will cover a range of topics from the curiosities of bee behaviour to hive and frame construction. You will walk out of this workshop with a sense if empowered responsibility as a beginner beekeeper as well as a sense of respect and awe for these magnificent and sacred creatures. During the day we will be getting a hands dirty with a live hive inspection and a honey harvest.

Cost: $100/$85 Healthcare Card Holder

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
